Raven-Symoné revealed Monday that her younger brother has died, two years after his colon cancer diagnosis.
The Disney Channel star began a post on Instagram thanking her followers for their birthday wishes on Sunday, sharing that it was "bittersweet" because her brother, Blaize Pearman, died before she celebrated her 38th year around the sun.
"It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize," Raven-Symoné told her followers. "He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now."
She added: "He's loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family, have been a roller coaster."

Raven-Symoné's former Cheetah Girls bandmates shared their support in the comments section.
"I am so sorry to hear this news Raven! You were always such an awesome big sister who loved and adored her baby brother!" Sabrina Bryan wrote. "Sending healing prayers to you and your family during this difficult time."
